The Scalextric Model
Among the large range of classic racing cars the American Classic range continues to be one of the most popular. The choice of Camaro, Corvette and Mustang cars from the Scalextric ‘Pony Wars’ stable is immense and ever popular as a model or race car. The Pittsburgh Camaro joins over a dozen Camaro liveried cars to provide ample choice to the racer to enjoy the hard knocks or muscle car racing with these detailed though robust race cars.

History
This Trans-Am car was completed in late 1969, and the first race it entered was the 24 hours of Daytona driven by Bob Fryer. The "Pitt Crew" and Fryer raced this Camaro throughout the 1970-1971 seasons, competing in Trans-Am and SCCA races and through their success they won an invitation to ARRC/American Road Race of Champions in 1971. Smokey Yunick rented Fryer, the engine used during the competition, and the car qualified 2nd over all next to Warren Tope. This unique Trans-Am car was raced until approximately 1977 and then sat until its restoration was completed in May 1992. Since then it has participated in many SVRA events.
