Description
Based on the success of the 300 SL Gullwing, Mercedes Benz presented in 1957 the 300 SL Roadster. Mechanically it was more or less identical to the well known Gullwing. More than 2000 units were built in the early Sixties. Engine: 6 cylinder in-line motor, 2996 cc, direct injection. The engine is mounted at an angle of 45°, 215 HP at 5800 rpm. Most of these Roadsters were sold to the United States. At Old-timer auctions all versions of the 300 SL bring high prices. The 300 SL is one of the most sought after cars.
