DescriptionThe Porsche 550 with the chassis number 550-0051 was built in May 1955 and was made available 10 days prior to the official delivery date in order to take partin the Le Mans 24 hours race. The 550 sporting blue bodywork was intended for Gustave Olivier. At the 1955 Le Mans race he clinched 5th place in the overall ratings and 2nd place in the class up to 1500 cc. The following year the car wassold. Since the 1990s the Spyder has been owned by a collector in Southern Germany. As part of the extensive painstaking restoration work the vehicle was returned to its original state, regained its original blue colour finish and once again participates in various historical races.
